Tara Garner/Owner, Photographer

Photography of Builders, Not Buildings

My Story

I'm Tara Garner-construction photographer, legacy Ironworker's daughter, and the eyes behind Under Construction Photography. I specialize in capturing the raw, untamed beauty of America's toughest job sites-bridges, steel structures, roadways, and the men and women who build them.

With a camera in hand and steel-toed boots on the ground, I've turned a childhood spent among rebar, rigging, and rivets into a career documenting the stories that live in welds, beams, and grit. This isn't just photography-it's a tribute. To legacy. To labor. To the backbone of this country.

Raised in a five-generation union ironworking family, I carry the spirit of the trade with me in everything I shoot. I don't just know the job - I respect it, live it, and photograph it from the inside out. My goal is simple: preserve the moments that matter, from sunrise safety meetings to the last bolt tightened at night.

Whether I'm scaling high steel, shooting a joint seal job under floodlights, or chasing golden hour through rebar shadows, my work is always driven by fairness, integrity, honesty, and justice.

If you're building something that'll last - let's capture it the right way.

5 Generations

What makes Tara passionate about photographing the people of this profession stems from her family's history in the trade. Spanning over five generations, the Garner family has been involved in the Ironworkers trade. Not only was Tara born into the blue collar world, she inherited the work ethic that it takes to make it in this industry.
